Research points out the real cause of Hair Loss

According to the recent research, the real reason for Hair Loss in individuals is because of the presence of PFOA found in Teflon, in their blood. Hairline International Research and Treatment Centre released a report on the effects of Teflon that contains Perflurooctanoic Acid (PFOA), on hair fall. In the recent studies, it was proven that 80 percent of the cases visiting the clinic with hair fall problem are PFOA positive, which also caused some of these people with High Cholesterol and Hyperthyroidism. And 70 percent of these women developed Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD). How Teflon is considered to be harmful?

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a man-made chemical. It is used in the process of making Teflon and similar chemicals (known as fluorotelomers); although it is burned off during the process it can stay in the environment and in the human body for long period of time. Teflon coated pans are a common occurrence in most home, especially considering that these products are marketed for the health conscious. One of the substances it comprises is PFOA. Most of the fast food packaging as well as candy wrappers and pizza box liners contact food and papers that have traces of PFOA in them.

PFOA is found in some foods, drinking water, and in household dust. Studies have found that it is present worldwide in about everyone’s blood. Higher blood levels have been found in community residents where local water supplies have been contaminated by PFOA. The PFOA level is higher in the areas near chemical plants that use PFOA. People are exposed to PFOA from fabrics and carpets that are treated to be strain resistant. Internationally, there is a move towards reducing dependency on products that may contain PFOA based substances.
